AdBlue In Your Diesel

So, what is the trouble with putting AdBlue in the diesel vehicle? Seeing as AdBlue is primarily deionised water, it is just like putting water into your tank. Diesel and water really don't blend in the least and attempting to run a diesel car on water will not work. Also, the urea is particularly corrosive to the fuel system hoses and seals and is at risk of crystalising, blocking injectors and filters.

In case you have put AdBlue into your fuel tank empty it right away. And of course be careful not to turn over the motor - not even to shift it away from the pump. If you have started the vehicle you may almost certainly need to have the entire fuel system flushed and fuel filters changed.

Water contaminated fuel, irrespective of whether it's unleaded or diesel, can be an important matter to address in a vehicle - specifically in modern common-rail engines.
